So that our parishioners are aware, Fr. Elijah finished his teaching this semester at Mount Aloysius College and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College this week (with some minor paperwork to be done in the upcoming week). There is, however, no rest for the weary, as the combination Summer/Fall semester of doctoral residency begins on 9 June and concludes on the 20 June. Please be advised that Fr. Elijah will be available evenings only during this two week period. In addition, Fr. Elijah will begin an undisclosed tenure on a newly formed committee for the Archdiocese. This is an appointment blessed by His Eminence, and accepted by Fr. Elijah. He will act as clergy representative for the Church Closure Committee. The first meeting will be 9 June (in the evening) at our Archdiocesan Chancery. The main goal of this committee is to advise the hierarch and Archdiocesan Council, and prepare suggestions, a protocol, and a process for parishes that must explore this difficult topic.
